Two castles
Two castles once existed under the name of Soľnohrad. The first castle stood on a hill south of Solivar. Today there are no visible traces of it. The second is on the hill Zámek (661 m above sea level) above the village of Ruská Nová Vec, of which today there are only modest ruins.

The most extensive castle
Šariš Castle is one of the largest medieval royal castles in Slovakia. It has an area of more than 4 hectares, while the castle courtyard itself - formed in a volcanic crater - occupies 2.7 hectares. It is one of the oldest comitatus castles in our territory.

The highest castle
Bodoň Castle is built on a distinctive round-shaped rock outcrop at an altitude of 855 metres above sea level. Its altitude makes it one of the highest medieval castles in Slovakia.

The castle that disappeared in the forests
Hanigov Castle is one of the least known castles in the region, whose ruins almost blend in with nature. It looks like a discovery from another time among the dense mixed forests.

The most extensive ruin
Kamenica Castle is one of the largest castle buildings, but one of the least visited. Ideal for those who want to explore without crowds.

Guardian of Hornád
Although not much of it remains, Obišovce Castle guarded the Hornád valley - one of the key communication routes of the region.
